The resulting scar encircles the thigh around approximately two-thirds of its circumference, running from the groin area just below the perineum and ending at the back in the infragluteal fold. The vertical scar is approximately 15 cm long and runs along the junction of the middle and posterior parts of the thigh. The overall shape of the scar therefore resembles the letter Y or T.
