Anaesthesiology provides examination of the overall state of health and evaluation of the degree of risk in relation to the planned surgery and pre-operational preparation to ensure safe progress of the operation and post-operation period.


MUDr. Zdeněk BrodeckýEmphasis is placed on an individual approach and a patient who is well-informed of all the possibilities and means of anaesthesia. We normally carry out a number of other means of preventing pain than total anaesthesia. After considering the state of health of the patient and the type of surgery, the doctor proposes the means of anaesthesia that will be most suitable and least unpleasant for the patient. Following provision of detailed information and answering any questions, the patient is requested to provide his (her) consent. Thus, choice of the means of anaesthesia is a process in which the patient has full participation.


All the methods are carried out by experienced personnel with experience at clinical workplaces. The operating rooms are equipped with modern instruments and reliable monitoring technology. The regime of single-day operations is carried out on a normal basis (the patient is released to home care on the day of the operation or, at the latest, the next day). The anaesthesiologist is constantly available through mobile telephone for consultation with the patient in the post-operation period.
